Defend Your Base From Scary Worm Wave Planner: 450 Cash to Wave 13

A repair vs upgrade vs new-unit tree — not a fake wave HP table.

Last updated:

Wave Planner

This planner is how you spend the 450 cash you spawn with, and how you still have a door when wave 13 starts leaning. It is a decision tree, not a damage table. Defend Your Base From Scary Worm does not publish per-wave HP. We will not invent 12 rows of fake numbers so this page looks like a wiki from a different tower defense.

If you want a buy-order you can tick in the lobby, use the build checklist. If you want the first-claim walkthrough, use getting started. This page assumes you already sit on a plot and can see the shop.

The only three verbs

Every pile of cash is one of three verbs. Say the verb out loud if you have to. If you cannot name it, wait one spawn.

  1. Repair — the wooden door ticked down. You click repair. This verb beats the other two. The fail condition is ~400 HP going to zero, not a missed upgrade.
  2. Upgrade — a printer, spear, or mortar you already placed can take a level, and the door is stable. Feeding a working unit is usually better than opening a new pad you cannot afford.
  3. New unit — the line has a hole (no spear on the approach, no mortar once spears are online, no blue node once you truly have ~16k and a healthy door). You place something that fills the hole.

There is no fourth verb called “cosmetic.” There is no fifth verb called “open crate.” Gems wait until the worm is dead.

Opening: the 450

You start with about 450. That pile is not a mortar fund. Split it in your head like this:

  • Printer first. Income is the only way 450 becomes 4,500. How to farm is the longer argument; the planner’s version is “if the printer is not down, you are not planning waves, you are sightseeing.”
  • Then one cheap spear thrower on the door line so the first waves are not chewing free wood.
  • Hold a repair stub. Do not dump the last coins into a second decorative spear if the door has already ticked. Repair is the stub.

If 450 is gone and you have no printer, stop the queue and reset your brain. A restart on a fresh plot is cheaper than ten waves of a mute economy.

Co-op does not change the 450. A neighbor’s printer is not yours. A 35-player server can look rich in the camera and still leave your plot broke.

Early waves: print, poke, peek the door

Until the shop starts offering mortars you can actually feed, the plan is boring on purpose.

  • Peek the door every few seconds. If it moved, repair. How to protect the door is the habit; this planner only assigns the verb.
  • When the door is stable and cash is ticking up, upgrade the printer before you upgrade the spear, unless the spear is clearly not connecting. A quiet gun with a loud printer still buys the next gun. A loud gun with a dead printer buys nothing.
  • Place a new spear only if the approach has a gap the first spear cannot see. Two spears that share one angle are an upgrade problem, not a placement problem.

Do not start a mortar here just because the icon looks heavier. A mortar you cannot afford to upgrade is a long animation on a hungry door.

Wave 13 pressure: the squeeze

Around wave 13, bases that skipped the printer or skipped repairs start to panic. The worm is not always on the wood yet, but the chip damage is faster, and a 400 HP door that nobody touched is suddenly a yellow door. This is the squeeze the planner exists for.

Run the tree in this order. Do not skip a line because a crate is glowing.

  1. Is the door dropping? Repair. End of tree. Shop later.
  2. Is the printer still the bottleneck? If cash is crawling, upgrade or replace income before you buy splash. Wave 13 with 80 coins in the bank is a wipe you scheduled at wave 2.
  3. Are spears actually hitting? If they are shooting the ground, move or add one that sees the path. If they are hitting and the door still chips, you need more damage or more repairs — not a cosmetic wall.
  4. Can you afford a mortar without skipping the next repair? Then the new-unit verb is mortar. Place it on the door, not the back lawn.
  5. If a mortar is already down, upgrade it before you open a second mortar pad you will forget to feed.
  6. Do not start the ~16k blue unit during the squeeze unless the door is stable and the 16k is real. A half-bought late unit is 16k that did not repair.

Wave 13 is not a special map and not a Forest stage. This game has no Forest / Desert / Lava rotation. The squeeze is just the moment your early mistakes arrive as a bill. Pay it with repairs and income, not with a panic legendary from another game’s tier list.

After the squeeze: feed the line, then the blue node

Once you are through the first panic and cash is moving again:

  • Keep the repair verb bound to a finger. The worm still heals. A healthy door is the only reason you get to spend 16k.
  • Upgrade mortars and spears that already see the boss. New pads are for holes, not for symmetry.
  • When the door is calm and you have on the order of 16k, the new-unit verb is the blue damage unit. That is the node that contests the heal in full-clear footage. Compare it on the tier list, then buy it — do not stand on this planner arguing about a calculator we did not build.
  • Finish with how to beat the worm. The planner’s job ends when the three verbs are obvious under pressure. The guide’s job is the boss itself.

Gems still wait. Codes still will not drop 16k into your pocket; there are no public codes as of September 2026.

If a publish moved the shop

If the Roblox Updated date left 3 September 2026 behind, do not trust your muscle memory on prices. Re-price the printer and the first spear, then walk this tree again. Patch notes tells you how to verify; this planner tells you what to do with the new numbers. If starting cash is no longer 450, the opening section is stale and the rest of the verbs still apply.

When the next wave starts, you should already know whether the next click is a repair, a printer tick, or a new barrel. If you do not, sit out one spawn and decide. Do not panic-click the shop.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

How much cash do I start with?

About 450. Spend it on a printer and a cheap spear, and keep a stub for door repair. Getting started walks the first claim if you have not spawned yet.

What is wave 13 pressure?

The moment early mistakes come due: chip damage speeds up, a neglected ~400 HP door goes yellow, and a base with no printer panics. This page is a decision tree for that squeeze, not a fake HP table for wave 13.

Should I repair, upgrade, or place a new unit?

Repair if the door ticked. Upgrade a working printer or turret if the door is stable. Place a new unit only to fill a hole (no spear, no mortar, or the ~16k blue node with a healthy door). Details are in the tree above.

Why won’t you list exact HP per wave?

No public table exists. Invented rows would fight the live heal. Use how to protect the door and how to beat the worm for the real fail conditions.

Does this planner work on Lava or Desert maps?

This experience has no Lava, Desert, or Forest maps. If you are on a biome vote, you loaded a different Roblox game. The tree here is one plot, one door, one worm.

Where is the buy-order checklist?

On the build checklist. Use that for sequence (claim, printer, spears, door, mortars, blue, gems) and this page for timing under cash pressure.
