Getting Started in Defend Your Base From Scary Worm

Claim a bunker, spend the opening 450 cash, and do not ignore the door HP tick.

Getting Started

Your first ten minutes in Defend Your Base From Scary Worm decide whether the wooden door is still standing when the smiling worm arrives. This is a free Roblox tower-defense match on servers of up to 35 players, created by Evil Worm Simulator (TreeTrunk_290). You are not exploring a world. You are claiming one night-grass plot with a concrete bunker, spending a small cash pile, and learning that the door — not your avatar — is the thing that can lose.

Join the experience, wait for the plot list, and take an empty base. Packed servers still have free bunkers; do not stand in the lobby watching someone else’s worm. Once the plot is yours, look at cash. Footage of this game starts you near 450. That number is enough for a first economy building or a handful of cheap spear throwers. It is not enough to max the shop.

Minute one: claim, look, do not panic

Camera around the bunker. You should see grass at night, concrete, a wooden door facing the lane, and a shop for units and printers. The cream segmented worm is the boss you will fight, not a decoration. Official stills show its HP bar in the high hundreds of thousands (about 748k on the way to 999,999). You will not delete that bar with the opening 450 cash. You will survive long enough to print more.

Open how to play later for win conditions. Right now the only rule is: something must generate cash, something must shoot, and someone must repair the door. If you have never placed a Roblox shop item, skim controls so you know how click-to-place and the repair prompt work on PC, mobile, or console.

Printer versus spear throwers

New players dump the entire 450 into spear throwers because the shop makes them look like the whole game. That wall will shoot the first waves and then starve. A money printer or farm is the better first purchase. One printer turns 450 into a stream. A row of spears turns 450 into a dead shop.

A practical open:

  1. Claim the empty plot immediately.
  2. Buy one printer or farm and place it behind the door, not in the chew lane.
  3. Spend leftover cash on one or two spear throwers covering the approach.
  4. Stand near the door so the repair prompt is one input away.
  5. Do not buy a second cosmetic unit until the printer has paid for itself.

If you already panicked and bought only spears, stop placing more. Save the next coins for a printer. How to farm is the longer version of this argument; the short version is that wave 13 is a cash check, not a DPS check.

Repair the door on the first tick

The wooden door is the fail condition. Footage from early sessions shows players calling out repair while they try to keep the door around 400 HP. If you wait until the bar is a sliver, the worm’s chew plus heal outruns you. Walk up, use the repair prompt, and treat every tick as a tax you pay before you buy the next spear.

Repair is not the same as upgrading the door. Repair restores HP on the wood you already have. Upgrades, if the shop offers a different door, cost extra cash you do not have in minute one. Spend the first ten minutes on repair + printer, not on a prettier gate. The dedicated article is how to protect the door.

You will hear a boss countdown around 25 seconds when the worm is about to commit. That is your last chance to tap repair and drop a unit, not a time to open the Roblox menu. If the door is already near 400, you can look at the shop. If it is sliding, ignore the shop.

What the first waves are actually teaching

Early waves exist to fund the printer. They are not a test of whether you own a rare unit. Spear throwers are fine here. Mortars come later when cash is real. Rare units and the expensive blue fighter (~16k, about 120 damage) are endgame toys, not tutorial toys. If a crate or rare shows up in the shop during your first session, leave it unless the printer is already upgraded and the door is healthy.

Co-op on a 35-player server can help if a teammate repairs while you place. It can also wipe you if six people stand on your plot and nobody taps the door. Claim your own bunker. If you are sharing, assign one person to repair before anyone opens the shop. Best builds covers that split once you survive the tutorial window.

First-session mistakes to avoid

  • Spending all 450 on spears and then staring at an empty shop.
  • Placing printers in front of the door where the worm chews them.
  • Ignoring the HP tick because the worm still looks far away.
  • Wandering off the plot to spectate someone else’s million-HP bar.
  • Redeeming random codes. There are no active promo codes as of September 2026; like the game and join the group for the advertised bonus, and only trust the codes hub.
  • Copying Forest / Desert / Freezer / Lava advice from Defend Your Base from 67. Wrong game.

The 3 September 2026 update did not change the opening: claim, print, repair. Shop prices can shift; the 450-cash feel and the 400 HP door habit have been consistent in footage of this place.

A ten-minute checklist

By minute ten you should have: a claimed plot, at least one printer or farm ticking, a couple of spear throwers covering the lane, and a door you have repaired at least once. You should know where the repair prompt appears. You should know that wave 13 will hurt if income is dead. You should not own a maxed mortar line yet, and that is fine.

When that checklist is true, leave the beginner page. Use how to farm to upgrade the printer, how to protect the door to lock the 400 HP habit, and how to beat the worm when you are ready to spend mortars and the blue unit on a full clear. The Guides Hub lists the rest.

The opening 450 is a seed, not a loadout. Plant a printer, throw a couple of spears, and tap the door the first time the number moves. If you treat that tick as optional, the smiling worm does not need a million HP to win — it only needs you to look away from the wood.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

How much cash do I start with?

Footage of this game starts you near 450 cash. Spend it on a printer or farm first, then cheap spear throwers. Details stay in this getting started page.

Should I buy spear throwers or a printer first?

Buy economy first. Spears hold the first waves; they do not pay for wave 13. See how to farm for the upgrade order.

What HP should the wooden door stay at?

Keep it near 400. Repair on the first tick instead of waiting for a sliver. How to protect the door explains repair versus upgrade.

Are there codes I should redeem in the first 10 minutes?

No public codes are active as of September 2026. Like the experience, join the group, and use the codes hub only when a real list appears.

Where do I learn movement and the repair prompt?

Use the controls page for PC, mobile, and console. This game uses normal Roblox move/camera plus an on-screen shop and a door repair prompt.
