Defend Your Base From Scary Worm Pre-Wave Build Checklist

Claim, print, spears, door 400, mortars, blue unit, gems — in that order.

Build Checklist

Use this checklist before the worm timer, then again the first time the door beeps. It is the build order for Defend Your Base From Scary Worm, not a loadout for Defend Your Base from 67, and not a DPS sheet. Tick the boxes in sequence. If you skip a box because a crate skin looked nicer, the worm does not care.

Keep the wave planner nearby for the cash verbs (repair / upgrade / place). This page is the sequence. The planner is the timing. Together they replace the calculator this wiki refuses to fake.

1. Claim a base

Join place 85070260180613. Take an empty plot. Do not stand in the lobby admiring other people’s mortars while the claim window closes. Servers hold 35 players; plots are not infinite. Co-op means you can sit next to a friend, not that you share one door.

If you are brand new, stop here and read getting started once, then come back. The checklist assumes you already know how to sit on a plot and open the shop.

Confirm you are not on a Forest / Desert / Lava map vote. Those maps are the other game. If you see them, leave and search the title again.

2. Printer before vanity

Starting cash is about 450. The first purchase that prints more cash beats the first purchase that looks like a turret. Buy the money printer / farm and get it running. A silent printer is how wave 13 arrives with a pretty spear and an empty wallet.

Upgrade the printer when the shop offers a step you can afford without leaving the door at 50 HP. Income now is spears and mortars later. Details live on how to farm — this box only asks: is the printer down, and is it actually printing?

Do not sell the printer to panic-buy a late unit unless the worm is already on the wood and you have a teammate covering income. Solo, the printer stays.

3. Spear throwers on the line

Early waves want cheap, honest DPS on the door line. Spear throwers are that job. Place them where they can see the approach, not behind a wall you built for fun. One spear that shoots beats three spears that decorate the roof.

Check the tier list if you have extra cash and the shop is showing something louder than a spear. If you do not have extra cash, you do not have a tier-list problem. You have a spear problem. Place the spear.

4. Door near 400 HP — repair on every tick

The wooden door is the only HP bar that ends the run. Keep it near 400. When the number ticks down, repair. Do this even if a mortar is one click away from an upgrade. A maxed mortar on a 0 HP door is a highlight for the worm, not for you.

How to protect the door is the full habit: where to stand, when to peek the bar, how to share repair duty in co-op. The checklist version is meaner: if the bar moved and you did not repair, you failed this box. Reset your brain, click repair, then shop.

5. Mortars when spears are already working

Mortars are mid-run splash, not a starter. If you buy a mortar before a printer and a spear, you will stare at a long cooldown while the first waves nibble the wood. Once spears are firing and the printer is feeding you, add mortars so the worm’s fat body actually gets hit by more than one poke.

Place mortars where they cover the door, not the back lawn. If a mortar cannot see the worm when the worm is chewing, it is a statue. Re-check facing the next time you upgrade it.

6. Blue unit at ~16k — only when the line is stable

Late damage funnels into a blue unit that costs on the order of 16k to step up. That is a lot of printer cycles. Do not start this purchase while the door is yellow. Bank, repair, then buy. Gameplay footage of full clears treats this node as the thing that finally contests the worm’s heal; your job is to reach it with a door that still exists.

If 16k is sitting in your pocket and the worm is already healing through spears and mortars, this is the buy. If 16k is sitting in your pocket and the door is 80 HP, you bought the wrong luxury last minute — repair first, then see if 16k is still there. How to beat the worm assumes you outpace the heal; this box is how you still have a plot when that fight starts.

7. Gems and crates after the clear

Win first. Then spend gems on crates. Opening a crate while the boss timer is ticking is how people screenshot a rare and still lose the door. There is no public crate-odds table on this wiki because we will not invent one. Pull when the worm is dead, then go back to printers if you queue again.

Codes will not fill this box for you. As of September 2026 there are still no public promo codes. Like the experience and join Evil Worm Simulator if you want the rewards the description already promises.

Rapid pass (read this in the last 10 seconds)

  1. Plot claimed?
  2. Printer printing?
  3. Spear on the door line?
  4. Door near 400, repair bound to a finger?
  5. Mortar only after 2–4?
  6. Blue unit only with a stable door and ~16k actually in the bank?
  7. Gems after the win?

If any answer is no, fix that row before you open the shop for cosmetics. After a Roblox publish, re-run the rapid pass once using patch notes as the reminder that prices can move even when no blog exists.

Run this list in the lobby. Run it again at the first repair beep. If you skipped a box, fix that box before you buy another roof piece. The worm does not care that your base looks expensive.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

What is the first thing I should buy?

A money printer / farm, then cheap spear throwers. Starting cash is about 450. Read how to farm if you keep opening with a mortar you cannot afford to feed.

Why does the checklist keep saying 400 HP?

The wooden door sits near 400 HP in the loop we play, and it is the fail condition. Repair on every tick. How to protect the door is the longer version of this box.

When do I buy the blue unit?

When the door is stable and you actually have on the order of 16k. It is late damage, not a starter. Compare options on the tier list only after boxes 1–5 are green.

Should I open crates mid-wave?

No. Clear first, then gems. There is no crate calculator here. How to beat the worm is the page for the boss, not the loot screen.

Does co-op change the checklist?

You can share a server of up to 35 players, but each plot still has its own door. Run every box on your wood. Teammates do not repair for you unless they are standing at your door.

Where is the cash decision tree?

On the wave planner. This page is buy-order. That page is repair versus upgrade versus a new unit when wave 13 starts leaning on you.
